Eliot Engel is the Democratic representative from New York's 16th Congressional District in the U.S. House elected in the 2018 Midterm elections. As a freshman, Engel was appointed chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the 116th Congress by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
