The Eredivisie (literally: Division of Honour) is the top flight of soccer in the Netherlands. The league is one of the top in Europe, based on quality of play and general buying power. The league was founded in 1956. AFC Ajax holds the commanding lead for most titles, with 25.
The current Eredivisie champions (season 2016-17) are Feyenoord.
