Description

The Eurasian blue tit is 4.7 inches long, with a wingspan of 7.1 inches, and weighs about 0.39 ounces. It is blue above; the wings, tail and crown are azure in color, with a greyish-blue back. The wings bear white tips on the upperwing coverts, forming a horizontal stripe when at rest. The face is white, framed in black at the cheeks and chin, and an azure stripe behind each eye. The underside is yellowish. Young birds are more yellow throughout. The bird is also acrobatic, frequently seen in branches and feeders upside down.
