The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is one of the world's largest non-profit foundations dedicated to entrepreneurship. Its vision is to foster “a society of economically independent individuals who are engaged citizens, contributing to the improvement of their communities.”[1] The foundation invests in educational programs that lead students on a path to self-sufficiency.[2] Its two major educational initiatives have been the FIRST Robotics initiative, which encourages high school students to design and test robots capable of performing specific tasks; and the Hot Shot Business game, which is an internet simulation game that gives students the chance to run their own business.
