Fenway Park is the stadium for the Boston Red Sox. It first opened in April 20, 1912. The owner at the time, Charles Henry Taylor, give the name of the ballpark because it was located in the Fenway section of Boston.[1]

The park is known for its very unusual dimensions and features, most notably the "Green Monster" (a 37-foot-high[2] wall in left and left-center field), but also including "Pesky's Pole" (at 302 feet down the right-field line, the shortest dimension in Major League Baseball, which thereafter juts out sharply to 380 feet).
