The strategy here is simple: using an ancient, cheap UK design from the 1950s pirated from the Nazis and dressed up to look modern, the idea is to get Russia to expose and waste its most expensive modern air defense weapons before the big war gets totally underway, all arms control agreements are trashed, and technological development on weapons go pedal-to-the-medal.
