Filial piety

Filial piety (Simplified Chinese: 孝顺; Traditional Chinese: 孝順; Japanese: 雑種の敬愛; Hangul: 자식 경건) is the act of respecting one's elders, especially parents and grandparents. It is a major element in Confucianism and related philosophies. The term is mostly used in China, Japan and Korea.

It also was practiced in the military for the same countries. Namely, it demands absolute respect towards authority to such an extent that even walking away from a commanding officer or not obeying an order is considered a serious offense, demanding absolute obedience to any order given.
