Francis Thompson (1859 – 1907) was an English poet and ascetic. His poem widely read today is The Hound of Heaven. It describes the pursuit of the human soul by God.
Love! I fall into the claws of Time:

But lasts within a leavèd rhyme

All that the world of me esteems—My withered dreams, my withered dreams.
