Gettysburg reunions
From Conservapedia
Gettysburg reunions were spectacular events whereby combatants in the Battle of Gettysburg reunited annually for handshakes and commemorative ceremonies, on the 50th and 75th anniversaries.
More than 5,000 attended the 50th anniversary reunion in 1913, and a colorized photograph hangs at The Wall. 90% of them slept in the field or in tents.
The final reunion was the 75th anniversary, held in 1938, when only 1800 survivors were still alive and in attendance. They would all have been more than 90 years old by then.
