Great Bible

The Great Bible was published in England in April 1539 with 2,500 copies upon the order of King Henry VIII in 1538. It was printed in very large page size and placed in churches throughout the land.
It had six subsequent editions between 1540 and 1541, not identical to each other (and thus not properly called impressions).
When the Geneva Bible was introduced in England, it quickly surpassed the Great Bible in popularity.
