A Great Books program refers to an academic program that emphasizes the use and study of classical liberal arts texts in areas such as mathematics, science, language, philosophy and literature. Kentucky State University is one institution that has offered such a program.

Some texts included in such programs are Euclid's Elements, Shakespeare's Macbeth, the Bible, the Koran, and Plato's Republic.
