Greenock is a town and former burgh at the mouth of the River Clyde in Inverclyde, Scotland. The name derives from the Gaelic grian-aig ("sunny bay").

Famous sons of Greenock include engineer James Watt - the James Watt Memorial College is located on the site of his birth - and pirate William "Captain" Kidd.

Greenock is twinned with Veulettes in France.
