Hard work, in contrast to sloth and laziness, is the idea of persevering toward a worthy goal and achieving it to better one's life. The American system was built upon the ideas of hard work and work effort and to this day hard work is rewarded and rewarding hard work is one of the major principles of conservatism. Hard Work is the price people pay in order to achieve their goal. Hard work also builds discipline, the hard work with the time it takes is key to success. Hard work gives people a purpose, teaches people to persevere, to find ways to appreciate all you have but still aim higher and not settle for mediocrity. It also overcomes laziness, procrastination, doubts, fear of failure, insecurities, and bad habits. [1] As the path to success is filled with failure. It is also crucial to realize there are aspects that are out of one's control, such as timing and luck which are important. However one can only control what they do. [2]
