Hebrews verses are statements from the 13 chapters in the Epistle to the Hebrews, which are particularly helpful or insightful:

exhort others

Hebrews 3:13:

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Compare with Hebrews 3:13 (ESV):

But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

science

perseverance

  • "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us ...." Hebrews 12:1 (ESV, emphasis added)

permanent rest

  • "Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it. ... So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God." Hebrews 4:1 and Hebrews 4:9 - this is the complete rest of eternal life.

pen is mightier than the sword

  • Heb 4:12 : "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart."

prayer

  • Heb 13:18 : "Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things."

addiction

anxiety

  • Hebrews 4:16 : "Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

names

  • uses "Philadelphia", meaning "brotherly love," inspiring the city's name and wording throughout the New Testament (Philos (noun) appears 29 times, while phileo (verb) appears 25 times), see Hebrews 13:1

faith

Faith is mentioned by the Epistle to the Hebrews more than any other book except Paul's Letter to the Romans, which was probably based on this Epistle. Chapter 11 of this Epistle is called the "Hall of Faith" with its many examples that include Abel, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, and Rahab.

  • Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
  • Hebrews 3:6 : "but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope."
  • Hebrews 4:2 : "For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened."
  • Hebrews 6:12 : "so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises."

angels

  • Heb 13:2 : "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."[1]

politics

  • Hebrews 10:24-25 : "24And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

witnesses from above

  • Heb 12:1 : "Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,"
