Trivia

  • Her Honor the Mare marks the first regular Popeye the Sailor short to be animated and produced in color, using the Technicolor process.
  • This also marks the first appearance of the "spinning star" opening credits featuring Popeye (where the spinning star zooms in from the Paramount Pictures logo until it stops the moment Popeye's head pops out from the star as he toots his corncob pipe to mark his arrival), which would be used through the remainder of the Famous Studios run of Popeye the Sailor and would also be used for the opening credits in the made-for-TV Popeye the Sailor shorts in the 1960s.
  • Jack Mercer voices all of the characters (Popeye, his four nephews and the horse) in this short.
