A Holocaust cause denier is someone who (wrongly) denies that ideas fashionable in the 1930s among German politicians and intellectuals, such as Josef Mengele, had any connection with the atrocities committed in the Holocaust.

In essence, a Holocaust cause denier denies that the Holocaust had any ideological causes. He (wrongly) views the Holocaust like a random act of violence, such as murder.
