Homeschooling in Texas

Homeschooling in Texas is booming, totaling an estimated 600,000 homeschooled students as of 2024 which is slightly more than 10% of the public and charter school enrollment.[1]

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, homeschooling more than doubled nationwide from 5.4% of households in the spring of 2020 to 11.1% in October of 2020. In Texas, it nearly tripled from 4.5% to 12.3%. U.S. Census Bureau. Current national studies estimate more than 3 million homeschooled students currently in the US.[2]
