Ignosticism
Ignosticism is the belief that questioning the existence or validity of God, as both religious people and atheists do, is ultimately meaningless as there is no definite definition of what God is.[1] This position differs from agnosticism as agnostics have an image of God set in their heads, they are simply affirming that they know not if He exists. Ignosticism affirms that the concept of God is too ambiguous to confirm or deny, as a theist or atheist might do, and therefore do not have an image of God in their mind, as an agnostic would.
For example, when asked if they believe in God, an agnostic might respond, "I do not know if God exists or not." When asked the same question, an ignostic would respond, "What is God?"
Ignostics generally mention the large variety of depictions of a God or gods, and therefore the question "does God exist" is impossible to answer as there are so many depictions and possibilities, and no agreed upon image of what God is. Some mention that the way in which God is depicted in Christianity is vastly different from the way in which God is perceived by a Hindu or a deist.
