Illegal is an adjective that can mean:

• Contrary to law (e.g., an illegal left turn, or criminal activity in general);
• Contrary to officially established rules or regulations (as in sports) (e.g., an illegal forward pass); or
• Incapable of being performed on a computer (e.g., an illegal operation).
