ImgBurn is a free program developed by Lightning UK. It offers many features for the authoring of optical disks (CDs/DVDs) for several different purposes. The default language for this software is US English, but it also offers 39 other language packs.[1] ImgBurn is based on the disc burning engine of DVD Decrypter. However, it does not have the controversial ability to circumvent copy protections of encrypted DVDs. Some classify ImgBurn as freeware while other call it adware.
Features
- Supports many formats, including: ISO, IMG, BIN, CUE, NRG, DI, GI, PDI, DVD, MDS, PDI[2]
- Can build DVD Video discs (from a VIDEO_TS folder), HD DVD Video discs (from a HVDVD_TS folder) and Blu-ray Video discs (from a BDAV / BDMV folder)[2]
- Unicode folder and file name support[2]
- Supports systems: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2008, Windows 7 and Windows 8 (including all the 64-bit versions). Can also run on Linux systems and other x86-based Unixes with Wine.[2][3]
- Disk Image queue—provides support for burning several images with minimum interaction.[2]
