Independent Regulatory Agency

An independent regulatory agency is part of the Executive Branch. It is any body responsible for the oversight and regulating of a segment of the economy. It is managed by board or commissions, who are appointed by the president for a fixed term.
An example is the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
