Inkscape

Inkscape is a free, open-source vector image program. It can be used to create or edit vector graphics such as illustrations, diagrams, line arts, charts, logos and complex paintings. Inkscape's primary vector graphics format is Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) version 1.1[1]

History

Late in 2003, Bryce Harrington, MenTaLguY, Nathan Hurst, and Ted Gould, four developers of the Sodipodi project, began Inkscape a Sodipodi project fork, with the purpose of developing a cooperative, user-friendly vector app for SVG in C++.[2] The name is made up of the common English words "ink" and "scape".[3]
