Ion Antonescu was the Fascist dictator of Romania from 1940 to 1944.
Biography
Antonescu came in power by the Iron Guard, an extreme right-wing movement. After it forced King Carol II. to step down, Antonescu took power in September 1940.[1] He supported the Axis powers during the Second World War and killed thousands of Jews and Romani. 1944 Antonescu was set down and delivered to the Soviet Union. In 1946 he was sentenced to death in Jilava, Romania.
