Jack A. Markell (born November 26, 1960) is a former Governor of Delaware and a member of the Democratic Party. Born and raised in Newark, Delaware, Markell received an undergraduate degree in economics and development studies from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago. After serving as Delaware State Treasurer he was elected governor in 2008.
