Jacobus Arminius

Jakob Harmenszoon or Hermanszoon, Latinized to Jacobus Arminius (1560-1609) was a Dutch theologian, best known for his creation of the Christian school of thought known as Arminianism, which opposes Calvinism. John Wesley, founder of the Methodist Church, was heavily influenced by Arminius.
