Jay Leno

Jay Leno hosted the Tonight Show on NBC for a total of 22 years. In 1992, Leno replaced the longtime comedian Johnny Carson on that show, and hosted it until 2009. Leno then left to host The Jay Leno Show, but returned in 2010 and remained the host until 2014 when he was replaced by Jimmy Fallon.
Conan O'Brien was the Tonight Show host in 2009 to 2010, when O'Brien left over a time slot dispute and Leno returned.
As opposed to his late-night counterpart David Letterman, Leno avoided partisan rants and poked fun at both political parties equally.[1] But Leno became a promoter of same-sex marriage and rarely has a real conservative on his show.
During the 2007 Writer's Guild of America strike, Leno passed out doughnuts to the strikers.[2]
