Johns Hopkins Hospital

The Johns Hopkins Hospital (JPH) is the teaching hospital and biomedical research facility of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, located in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The hospital was founded in 1889 using money from the philanthropist Johns Hopkins (1795-1873).

JPH and its associated school of medicine are founding institutions of modern American medicine. It is the birthplace of many notable medical traditions such as hospital rounds, residents and house staff.
