  • Judges (Biblical book) is the 7th book of the Bible, (Hebrew: Sefer Shoftim ספר שופטים). It is part of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) as well as the Christian Old Testament. It takes place after the death of Joshua and covers a time period of over 300 years. It was before Israel had a king.
  • The Judges of Israel, tribal leaders who functioned as judges and law-givers in the period before the establishment of the monarchy, and who collectively give their name to the book.
