Kevin John Cramer, born January 21, 1961 (age 63), is a Republican politician currently serving as the junior senator from North Dakota. He previously served as the representative from North Dakota's at-large district.
U.S. Senate
Cramer was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2018, defeating then-incumbent Democrat Heidi Heitkamp by over 10% of the vote.[1] His run was endorsed by Donald Trump.[2]
Despite mostly voting along with Donald Trump, Cramer joined Republican senators Lisa Murkowski, Mitt Romney, and Cory Gardner in opposing the president's proposal to nominate Herman Cain to the board of the Federal Reserve.[3] Cain later withdrew himself from being considered for the position.[4]
Political positions
Cramer's voting record is mostly conservative, being strongly pro-life, opposed to Obamacare, and opposed to illegal immigration.[5] However, he voted in favor of re-authorizing the Violence Against Women Act.
