King's Lynn is a market town and port in north-western Norfolk, situated on the eastern bank of the River Great Ouse, just south of where that river meets the North Sea at the Wash. It is located around 100 miles north of central London and 45 miles west of Norwich. King's Lynn is known for King's Lynn Guildhall, a Grade A-listed building built between the 15th-19th centuries, the Guildhall of St George, known nationwide for reputedly being the only surviving building at which William Shakespeare (1564-1616) performed, the statue of George Vancouver (1757-1798) and the late-medieval King's Lynn Minster.
