Kitty In The Window (tract)
Kitty In The Window is a religious tract written by Jack Chick. It was originally printed in 2016, and remains an in-stock title. It is listed on their website under the subject "Basic Gospel" and also tagged as "Suicide".
Regardless of the weather, every Saturday Claire Wilson passes out tracts and shares the Gospel with her community. On one extremely snowy day, she is chastised by her brother Mark, who says he could care less about sharing the Gospel with others. Important to the storyline, he is sick with an unstated illness.
On that Saturday, with her last tract she visits the home of Lizzie, an elderly woman who's 83rd birthday is that day. Looking back on her life, Lizzie is destitute and believes the best solution is "I'll make sure I won't have an 84th birthday". As she is in her basement trying to commit suicide by hanging, Claire knocks on her door. Although she has no response initially, after seeing a sad-looking kitten in the front window she continues trying, eventually having to quit due to a sore arm. But at that moment Lizzie answers the door, and Claire gives her a tract[1] with her contact info on the back. Immediately thereafter Claire gets word that Mark's illness has worsened and he's being taken to the hospital.
The following day, Mark admits to Claire that he really doesn't believe in Christianity and only pretended to get saved to keep their mother happy. Meanwhile, Lizzie reads the tract and recognizes that had she been successful in her suicide attempt, she would be in Hell. She calls Claire and prays to receive Christ, and asks if she can join Claire in passing out tracts together.
In the final scenes, at 2:46 AM the following morning Mark begins screaming, saying "They're coming for me! I'm beginning to burn! I'm in Hell!" after which he dies, whereupon he is shown going to Hell for his unbelief.
