Kitty Werthmann
From Conservapedia
Kitty Werthmann (b. January 2, 1926, d. July 14, 2022, at age 96) was an outspoken opponent of tyranny, who gave highly acclaimed speeches in the United States well into her 90s about what she personally saw as a teenager in Austria when Adolf Hitler took over that country.
She was one of the last living Americans who had come face-to-face with Hitler. For nearly 50 years she resided in Pierre, South Dakota, where she was a volunteer advocate for freedom in the Capitol there.
As one tribute to her explained:
| “ | While teaching, Kitty began seeing the effects of Adolf Hitler’s presence in her home country; the handicapped were sent away to die in his euthanasia program. Media became strictly controlled by the State, early enlistment by young men and women was required, free speech was no longer allowed. | ” |
