Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving is a top-10 NBA young star who, during the 2021-2022 season, gave up more than $100 million in earnings in order to take a stand in support of the right to decline the COVID vaccine (by doing so, he was ineligible to play over half the season, since he could not play any home games for his then-team the Brooklyn Nets, nor any games at the home of their crosstown rival New York Knicks or conference opponent Toronto Raptors).

However, Irving is known for his support of conspiracy theories (claiming, at one point, the earth was flat) and liberal causes (he is an enrolled member of the Standing Rock Lakota tribe - his mother was part-Lakota - and has supported their opposition to pipeline construction on tribal land; he is also a practicing Muslim who supports Palestine and has voiced antisemitic statements in the past).
