Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria, with around eight million residents. Some project the city to reach a population of 24,000,000 by 2020, which would place it among the largest cities in the world.[1] Lagos was the capital of Nigeria until 1991, when Abuja replaced it. Lagos is the industrial center of Nigeria, and its GDP alone triples that of any other African nation.[2]
