Lake Village is a small town in the southeastern corner of Arkansas, and the county seat of Chicot County. It had a population of 2,575 at the 2010 census. It takes its name from its location on Lake Chicot,[1] an oxbow lake which was once part of the nearby Mississippi River (and which gives its name to the county).

Famed pilot Charles Lindbergh made his first night time flight over the lake.

According to legend, Hernando de Soto is buried in the lake (a legend shared by other lakes in the area).
