2014 election
Zeldin was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2014 during a red wave, defeating Democrat then-incumbent Tim Bishop by nearly 10% of the vote.[3]
Tenure
Zeldin was the strongest and most outspoken opponent of the impeachment coup against Donald Trump,[4] asserting that it will rip “the country in half”. He later voted along with his House Republican colleagues against the sham impeachment articles.[5]
Political views
A conservative, Zeldin opposes abortion, same-sex "marriage", and Obamacare.[6]
Along with fellow Republican representative Peter T. King, Zeldin endorsed Donald Trump in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.[7]
