Lev Mekhlis

Lev Mekhlis (1889-1953) was a member of the government of the Soviet Union and the Communist Party. He served as a General in World War II. Mekhlis argued in favor of murdering Polish army officers and Catholic Priests in the Katyn Massacre in 1940.
