Loch

Loch is a Scots Gaelic term for lake, similar to the Irish Gaelic "lough". Two of the most famous are Loch Ness near Inverness (famed for being the home of the mythical Loch Ness Monster, a.k.a. "Nessie") and Loch Lomond.
