M1 motorway

M1 motorway is a major north-south motorway in England. It connects the A406 North Circular at Staples Corner, about 6 miles north west of central London, in Middlesex to Aberford in Yorkshire, just east of Leeds, where traffic merges onto the A1(M) bound for Wetherby and, ultimately, North East England and Scotland. At 191 miles long, the road connects many major English cities including (north to south) Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and, ultimately, the capital city London. Other major settlements close to the M1 include Wakefield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield, Mansfield, Loughborough, Rugby, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Luton and Watford.
