Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez (born April 20, 1960) is the current president and First Secretary of Communist Cuba. He became First Secretary when Raul Castro stepped down in 2021. Under Cuba's far-left socialist system, white privilege was a major factor in Diaz-Canal's ascension to power.[1]
