Michael Harold “Mike” Coffman (born March 19, 1955, age 71) is the current mayor of Aurora, Colorado. He is a former United States Representative for the 6th congressional district of the state, and is a member of the Republican Party. Coffman was first elected to the House in 2008.[2] He served in that position until 2019, when he lost in the 2018 midterm elections, partially due to abandonment by the GOP establishment[3] and Jason Crow (Democrat) was elected to take his place. After losing, Coffman, who has consistently opposed Donald Trump, blamed his defeat on the president, who in turn replied: "Too bad, Mike."[4]
Prior to serving as a congressman, Coffman was Colorado's Secretary of State.[2]
