The Morning Star is a British daily newspaper, espousing a hard-left political line.[1] It was founded in 1930 as the Daily Worker, organ of the Communist Party of Great Britain, but was renamed in 1967. As the CPGB fell apart in the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Morning Star, which was formally owned by an independent company, split from the reformist rump of the CPGB and aligned itself with the conservative Communist Party of Britain.
