Mothra

Mothra is (as its name suggests) a giant Moth, made by the Japanese film company Toho. Mothra appears in several Japanese movies, including several Godzilla films, as a god-like being who protects either the entire Earth from other giant monsters like Godzilla, or her native Infant Island from the outside world. Mothra appears in the same forms as a real moth, starting out as a giant egg, then hatching to form giant larva, then using her silk to make a cocoon, then changing into a giant multi-colored moth. As the larva, Mothra relies on her small stature and silk to fight enemies. As an adult Mothra has a wide range of abilities, ranging from poisonous wing-scales to lasers and lightning from her wings to complete invisibility. Mothra's most notorious foe is Godzilla, although she has also fought King Ghidorah, Dagarah, Des Ghidorah, and the JSDF.
