Musselburgh is a town in the traditional county of Midlothian, Scotland. It is administered by the East Lothian Council. As a burgh it is older than Edinburgh, as its residents are fond of reciting:
- ”Musselborough was a burgh when Edinburgh was nane,”
- ”And Musselburgh will be a burgh when Edinburough’s gane.”
It also boasts one of the oldest golf courses in the country.
