National Pork Producers Council v. Ross

In National Pork Producers Council v. Ross, a 5-4 U.S. Supreme Court held that California can regulate out-of-state pork producers by imposing unusually strict regulations on the production of pork that may be sold in its state.[1]

On July 9, 2025, the second Trump Administration sued California to block application of Proposition 12 to chickens, which increases egg prices nationwide.
