Nellie Gray

Nellie Jane Gray (June 24, 1924 – August 13, 2012) was the founder of the National March for Life. She led it to become the longest annual march in American history, consistently attracting hundreds of thousands each year.

Gray was a Roman Catholic.

She was born in Texas, and served in World War II in the Women's Air Corps.

After attending Georgetown University Law School, she became an attorney.

The demographic of the annual March for Life is extraordinary, with more than a hundred thousand teenagers participating each year.

After Ms. Gray passed away, the March for Life has continued each year.
