Normangee, Texas

Normangee is a city in Texas, located in the east-central part of the state.

Lester Roloff, a notable figure in the Independent Baptist movement (as a pastor, evangelist, and operator of a controversial home for wayward teenage girls which was investigated by the State of Texas for abusive practices), died near the city when his single-engine plane (which he was piloting) crashed during a thunderstorm.

On May 19, 2022, Normangee became the 50th city to pass an ordinance (by unanimous city council vote) declaring itself a Sanctuary city for the unborn.
