Oviedo

Oviedo (Asturian: Uviéu) is the capital of Asturias, in northwestern Spain. The city has 220,567 inhabitants (2016).

Oviedo was founded by Fruela I, king of Asturias, on November 25, 761. There was first build a monastery in the year 757 by the same king.[1]

The city is the home of the former Primera Division soccer team Real Oviedo, currently playing in the Segunda División A.
