Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) is an non-governmental organization and media watchdog group founded in 1996 by Itamar Marcus.
Core Mission and Activities
- Monitoring Media: The group researches and analyzes Palestinian society by monitoring Arabic-language Palestinian Authority (PA) media, school textbooks, and cultural platforms.
- Exposing Incitement: PMW focuses on documenting and translating examples of antisemitism, the glorification of terrorism, and anti-Israel incitement, particularly targeted toward children.
- Policy Impact: Itamar Marcus frequently presents PMW's findings to international governments, congresses, and parliaments. Its research has heavily influenced global foreign aid policies—including contributing to the passage of the U.S. Taylor Force Act—by highlighting instances where foreign aid money allegedly funded salaries for imprisoned terrorists or their families.
