Paralysis is the inability to move a part of the body, typically due to a medical condition (such as a stroke or polio) or a tragic accident (such as a car crash or sports injury).

The Bible describes Jesus Christ curing a case of paralysis, Matthew 8:5-13 (NIV):

(...)a centurion came to [Jesus] asking for help. "Lord," he said, "my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering." Jesus said to him, "I will go and heal him." (...) Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! It will be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that very hour.
